Babies are cute for so many reasons, but there is one feature in particular that every infant has that just can’t help but make me smile, and I think everyone would agree… Those chubby little cheeks!
The first thing I noticed about Abigail were her cute rosy baby cheeks. Believe it or not, there is actually a reason why her cheeks are so chubby and squeezable. Her cheeks contain little muscles that actually play a big part in helping her breastfeed properly.
Abigail’s tongue is actually bigger than the rest of her mouth. Her puffy cheeks help stabilize her tongue when she is breastfeeding, so it doesn’t get in the way of her getting the nourishment that she needs. Actually, the constant sucking motion keeps here cheeks even fuller!
Babies with cheeks like Abigail’s are indescribably cute! It seems to trigger a certain reaction in adults. I can only describe it as an overwhelming feeling of emotion. I believe infants can sense it, in a good way, of course. It makes them feel calm, safe and secure.
Being a parent is the hardest job in the world, but getting through all those sleepless nights and crying fits is worth every second! You know this because of the feeling you get when you calm her down, and get her to sleep. Also, when you see her smile, and she lets out the cutest little laugh that you’ve ever heard. Your heart can’t help but melt!
