I love that curious, heart melting look a newborn baby gives you when you’re holding them. Believe it or not, it’s for a good reason. She is examining every curve of your face, because that’s all she can see clearly at first. She can only see about 8-12 inches in front of her face. Everything surrounding her is a bunch of blurry objects and moving lights.
Take Adalynn for example. She’s so sweet when she looks at every inch of your face with her precious doe eyes. She doesn’t seem to look in one spot because she is still learning how to focus. When you make facial expressions at her she smiles and becomes fascinated by every silly look you give her. She might even try to imitate the faces that you make at her, and it is so freaking adorable!
When Adalynn hits one month she will be able to focus her eyes in one spot. You will be able to tell because she’ll start to make eye contact with you by now, and when you put toys in front of her, and move them from side to side, she will follow them with her dreamy bright little eyes.
By 2-3 months Adalynn will start to see the difference between similar colors (like red and orange). When Adalynn reached four months she will start to develop her depth perception and start to see a little further (about arm’s length). She will become even more curious about your beautiful hair and necklaces that you wear. By the time she reaches 12 months she will be able to see as clearly as you do.
